Mega post for the best photographic project I’ve seen in a while. ‘The Nine Eyes of Google Street View‘ is incredible. It provides a truly fresh approach to photo-documentary that feels like a throwback to the time before people had learnt about how to interact with cameras. But we can see people beginning to interact with this kind of static CCTV. Tellingly in the UK [which has the most CCTV cameras in the world] the subjects of streetview seem to well understand this new medium, and I find a lot of joy in their instant subversion with buttcheeks and gestulations!

These posters by Ken Garland are something I keep remembering. I wonder if this technique can still work today.
